View authentication authorities

Users gain access to a storage system or component either directly through a role assignment and indirectly through membership in a user group that has a role assignment.

Steps

Select to open the Settings panel.
Select Users and Groups > Authentication .
Use the Authentication page to view and manage authentication settings.

The following properties display:

Authentication
The following authentication types are displayed:
- Local Directory—When enabled, users can log in as a user from the CST local directory.
- Windows OS/AD—When enabled, users can log in as a user from the Windows local host or from the Active Directory domain. This property only displays for Windows installations.
- LDAP-SSL—When enabled, users can log in as a user from the configured LDAP directory.
- RSA SecurID—When enabled, the RSA token must be entered into the password field immediately followed by the user's password.
For ach authentication type, the following is displayed:
- Status—Status of authentication (enabled or disabled).
- Limited Authentication Group(s)—Limited Authentication Group names.
The following controls are available:
- —Hover over an authentication type and click to view the authentication authority information (see View authentication authority information).
- Enable—This control changes the status of Local Directory or Windows OS/AD from disabled to enabled. This control also changes the status of LDAP-SSL or RSA SecurID (see Configure authentication authorities).
- Disable—This control changes the status of Local Directory, Windows OS/AD, LDAP-SSL, or RSA SecurID from enabled to disabled.
- Modify— Configure authentication authorities
